Tell about yourself - your personality, lifestyle, etc.
I find it hard to describe myself in a few select and choice words and phrases, but here goes... I love to travel, especially overseas and can't wait until I have the means to start planing a new adventure. I enjoy a quiet day at home as much as going out or hanging out with great friends. I love food; cooking as well as finding great restaurants. I've been vegetarian my entire life and am recently experimenting with being vegan so am enjoying finding new recipes. I love living in this area where politics are relevant and discussed with passion. I try to find inspiration from the people around me, my work, and little things that I can learn about everyday. I suppose all the other details and nuances will have to be discovered along the way.

What kind of person are you interested in meeting?
Open-minded, kind, funny, intelligent, liberal...I suppose there are numerous adjectives but it's impossible to come up with the ideal person to meet like you would create a recipe. Sometimes you just have to let things come together and see if they mesh.

What sort of relationship would you like at this point in your life.
Dating, relationship, friendship

What made you choose Vegetarianism as a way of life? What impact has it had on your life?
I was raised vegetarian so I can't say it was really a choice, though I guess it is now. Recently, I've decided to try a vegan diet. It's hard, but I'm enjoying the challenge!

What is your favorite Vegetarian food?
Way too many to list...

Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
Currently reading Crazy, Sexy, Diet. Just finished In the Garden of Beasts. Always looking for recomendations. Love movies, especially classics, I'll take almost anything with Cary Grant. As far as TV, my personal favorites were West Wing and MASH, but I admit I've recently become hooked on Downton Abby.

What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I've worked in social services/child welfare for years, but now work in a non-profit that is more related to law enforcement. It's a great organization.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
I'm relatively independent, but believe most things are way more fun with someone else along to enjoy the fun and adventure, whatever it is. The warm weather has arrived! Whose up for Eastern Market, Great Falls, Old Town, National Harbor? I'm sure there are so many other places I have yet to discover or explore in all my time here. Maybe there’s a few you can show me.

Do you have pets? Tell about them.
I have a great, mellow dog. It's a nice change from my last one who was a bit manic and crazy at times. But in a loveable way.

What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I traveled to Nepal and lived there for 2 months. It was the most amazing experience and I wish I could have stayed for much longer.

While looking at a person’s profile, following the picture, what are the first things you look for?
I’m looking for someone who is a partner, someone who laughs with me, debates with me, and wants to explore the world together (or at least the city). He is passionate about similar issues, though we don't have to agree on absolutely everything. He is intelligent and aware of the world and things going on around him. He can love sports or leave them and doesn’t take himself too seriously.

What else should we know about you?
I'm passionate about my friends, my family, great books and great food. I have lived on both coasts and visited or driven through more than half the states; I’d love to see the rest of them. I absolutely love to travel, whether it’s locally, cross county, or best of all internationally. I enjoy reading and talking about politics and social issues and feel lucky to live in this area where they are always relevant. I have very strong feelings on certain issues and love to discuss and debate, but when it comes to a relationship, I find that opposites don't always attract when it comes to the truly important things.

I've been a vegetarian my entire life and within the last 6 months have being trying out being vegan. I'm not yet sure if being vegan is just a phase or a more permanent lifestyle change. However, being healthy and the humane treatment of animals are extremely important to me and the more I read and research the more I lean towards being vegan. That's not to say that I need to date someone who is vegan, or even vegetarian, though it can make some things easier. But I would hope to find someone who is open-minded and non-judgmental.
