I am an artist who does photography, ceramics and paints. I am pretty easy going and adventuresome. Being outdoors, spending time with friends/family and exploring ideas, places and activities are my major sources of enjoyment. I love to read and always have several different types of books going. Execise is part of my daily routine, both strength building and walking. I love spending time in art museums, gallaries and shows. I'm dependable and good humored. Love to exchange ideas and discuss things both one to one and in groups. Though somewhat reserved I am affectionate and think it is great to hold hands, hug and exchange kiisses both in public and private. Oh, and I can't leave out that I love to travel and have lived in several countries. Every kind of travel from day trips to extended abroad and casual to planned.

Someone who is easy going, fun and has a passion for life and living it to the fullest, as I do. I most enjoy someone who has a wide range of life experiences, is liberal, smart and enjoys deep personal communication and a lively discussion in general. Name some of your all-time favorite music / movies / TV / books.
I just saw "Eat, Prey, Love" and "The Kids are Alright" and enjoyed both tremendously. I rate by tears and these were at least four tear movies. My favorites are romance, drama and foriegn films. I just finished reading "Intimate Communion" and "Letting Go" by Phillip Roth. "The Red Tent" is one of my favorite novels and anything by Jung or about his architype theories is always of interest. I am a very eclectic reader and enjoy almost everything I read, from art related to philosophy to classic and NY Times best seller novels to spiritual and personal growth. Jazz, blues and classical are my favorite music genres, but can enjoy most except rapp, heavy metal and loud rock. I'm not much of a TV watcher, but enjoy PBS documentaries and news.

What type of work do you do? Do you enjoy it?
I am retired from marketing, publishing, PR and advertising. I have been a student majoring in art with an emphasis on ceramics most of the past five years, but am taking a year off at present to build strength and have fun.

What do you enjoy doing for fun?
Almost anything, at least now and then. But especially enjoy walking, going to events and museums either alone or with friends. Watching movies at home and in the theater is fun. I attend a monthly book club, a discussion group and several dining groups. Plus enjoy eating out with friends and going to concerts and theatrical productions. Just being outside is always fun, whether exploring a new natural area or watering my own flowers.

What do you hate doing?
Doing the laundry and routine house cleaning, but I do it and enjoy the results. Also I do not like to be outside when it is terrifically hot or cold. But I do not let weather stop me from doing what I enjoy and going where I want.

Tell about where you grew up or where you are from.
I grew up mostly in Central Iowa's capitol city of Des Moines. A really pleasant rather sophisticated white and pink coller sort of place. I spent years being very active in the community, both politically and in the areas of human service programs. I spent the last five years in Fairfield, IA, which may be the most unusual and interesting small town in Iowa. It is the North American home of the Transcendental Meditation movement and is an international community of meditators intermingled with locals and the rural farm community. It is a wellspring of creativity, with an abundance of writers, visual artists, musicians, entertainers and poets. There are at least 30 restaurants ranging from Indian, French, Chinese, Thai, and Mexican within two blocks of the town square. An easy and fun place to live.

Do you have pets? Tell about them.
No, too busy and they are not allowed in the apartment building where I live. But I like animals, especially dogs. I have also had several dogs throughout the years.

What would you say is your best virtue?
My creativity and loyalty.

What was the most daring / wild thing you have ever done?
I've done a lot, but not the bungee jumping type. Probably traveling alone as a backpacker in Central America is the most daring. The wilder things... I'm not sure I want to share them here. I am kind of an adventurer and have been all of my life. But I am not foolish.

What terrifies you?
Crossing fast moving water by way of rocks. I didn't realize this until I spent a week in mountain wilderness after several weeks of rain had swelled the many streams.
